If you haven’t heard, Mesa is so hot right now. Not because of the second edition of the sexy Mormon calendar (though that is pretty freaking hot), but on account of a bustling Main Street Mesa art scene anchored by Mesa Contemporary Arts, who will soon unveil its Spring Exhibitions at the beautiful gallery space located at 1 East Main Street.

The shows include “Station Identification”, featuring Teresa Sullivan’s crazy-cool tapestries of beads, jewelry, and sculpture; Paul Nicklen’s amazing National Geographic-schooled shutterbug chops in “Polar Obsession”; the “Picturing Maricopa” community image project that gives a behind-the-scenes look at local nonprofit organizations; and the “31st Annual Contemporary Crafts” exhibition showcasing all sorts of craft media(such as ceramics, fiber art, metals, papermaking, and glass) by 42 American artists.

Fri., Jan. 22, 6-8 p.m., 2010
