Phoenicians settled their homes on the parched desert dirt, and then planted grass everywhere. Eight months boast perfect weather, but we insist on staying in our cars. And, when we set up our Christmas trees, we splat fake-snow goop all over them.

In keeping with these quirks, Desert Ridge Marketplace has been sprinkling snow as a part of their Snow What Fun celebration. At 7 p.m. Thursday, December 24, folks wandering around the AMC Fountain and Fireplace will be treated to a shower of white mystery flakes that appear out of air and disappear without a trace. The stuff only falls for ten minutes, so get there quick and enjoy this latest tradition in desert-weather denial.
