Following a 16-year career and four-year album-making process, Los Angeles-based DJ Jaybird‘s first full-length record was finally released in March, and it’s all him — sort of. At least that’s the title. It’s All Me features a collection of DJ Jaybird originals and dubstep-ified remixes of high-profile tunes like Cee-Lo Green’s “Fuck You” and The Cure’s “Love Song.” And, really, when he drops ultra-heavy bass lines and synth-y sounds to Top 40 songs, they suddenly breathe fresh air as the remixes add new dimension to overplayed hits. The Philadelphia native drops the first beat at 5 p.m. Sunday, August 14, at The Lost Leaf, 914 North Fifth Street. There is no cover.
