According to legend passed down by the Hash House Harriers, a female newcomer was once invited to a hash in San Diego and, completely unaware she was about to run a trail, showed up in a red dress. Despite being mocked for her ensemble, the fabled female ran the trail like a champ. Other runners soon began wearing red dresses as a joke, and, as word of their antics spread, the tradition became an annual event held all over the country.

The Phoenix Hash House Harriers have expanded their yearly Red Dress Run into a full-blown weekend, beginning Friday with Zombie Acockonlypse, an undead-themed pub crawl along the light rail. Be sure to bring your appetite for booze — and, you know, braaiiiiiins.
