When hypothetically choosing a career, it’s no surprise that kids pick the path of a private detective over that of a newspaper reporter. After all, it’s not too likely that youngsters pick up dailies. And those who do read sites like TMZ know that those writers are more like secret agents stalking celebrity prey than anything else.
Local filmmaker Travis Mills’ The Detective’s Lover blends both worlds when newsman Scott Miller pursues an elusive P.I. in hopes of an interview. In true crime noir style, Miller soon finds himself sucked into a seedy world of sexy ladies and tough guys who don’t like the cut of his jib.
Leave those kiddos at home to watch the drama unfold (and spot local author James Sallis’ cameo) in its première at FilmBar.
