If nothing else, the Arizona Diamondbacks heartbreaking 2012 campaign certainlyhas proven one thing about our local hometown zer–uh, heroes: They’ve become the San Diego Padres’ personal bitches.
Switch-hitting slugger Chase Headley and the rest of the Southern California squad have mercilessly assaulted the D-backs over the past six months, beaten Arizona on 11 different occasions this season, and given the Snakes plenty of grief as they attempted to make a comeback in the National League West standings.
Sounds like it’s time for a little payback. Arizona will get a chance to dish out some revenge to San Diego during their three-game series at Chase Field, 401 East Jefferson Street, that concludes on Thursday, September 20, with an afternoon outing. As of this writing, the Diamondbacks still have a tiny chance of making a miraculous rebound and securing a postseason spot. If they can somehow slay San Diego, that might just happen. If not, the series will essentially be a battle of the also-rans, albeit a fun one.
