On pretty much every day of the year, showing your boobs to some stranger in exchange for jewelry probably would be highly illegal (or at least morally questionable). But during Mardi Gras, you’d be rude not to partake in some public nudity. What a special time of year.
The Downtown Phoenix Mardi Gras Parade, Festival & Pub Crawl is a decidedly more family-friendly affair, but there’ll still be plenty of room for risky behavior. The party begins at 3 p.m. at CityScape’s Patriot Park with a festival that includes New Orleans-style food, costumes, vendors, live music, and an all-important beer garden. At 4 p.m., revelers take to the streets for a parade, and at 9 p.m. the trolley-powered bar crawl begins. To top off the craziness, this whole Fat Tuesday celebration goes down on February 9 — a Saturday. Wild, indeed.
