Traipsing about in a flowing frock after partaking of a drink or two is a potentially hazardous endeavor. For proof, look no further than Jennifer Lawrence’s much-ballyhooed inebriated tumble in a Dior gown while racing to claim her gold statue at the Oscars.

It’s something that those participating in this year’s Brides of March should keep in mind as they saunter about downtown Phoenix drinkeries on Saturday, March 16, while adorned in cumbersome wedding regalia. Hundreds of urban pranksters and day drinkers will sport lacy veiled dresses for the bizarre bridal show/bar crawl, which is organized by the Arizona Cacophony Society.

Brides of every shape, size, and sexual orientation will mass at Park Central Mall hangout Kobalt, 3110 North Central Avenue, before departing at noon and heading for various bars and adult beverage establishments located nearby and along the light rail. Wedding gowns are “absolutely mandatory,” as is a sense of humor.
