Last June, after more than two decades of bringing quality comedy to Tempe and amid some very un-funny drama, the Tempe Improv shuttered. But the laughter wasn’t silenced forever. Under new ownership, the venerable comedy club is set to reopen.

As with any event of this magnitude, some celebrity appearances are to be expected. We’ve heard the list of people set to show up on re-opening night is impressive. People in the audience will have a chance to see the likes of Al Pacino, Robin Williams, Robert DeNiro, John Madden, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and even Fred Flintstone.

Of course, all these guys are really just one: comedian, impressionist and NFL commentator Frank Caliendo, who has the honor of rechristening the Improv during a three-night stand that begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 19.

Fri., April 19, 7:30 & 10 p.m.; Sat., April 20, 7 & 10 p.m.; Sun., April 21, 7 p.m., 2013
