Since the 1700s, thirsty Alaskans have been brewing their own beers and these days, the region’s namesake brewing company carries on the tradition at its highly sustainable Juneau brewery. Alaskan Brewing Company was the first craft brewery in the United States to recycle carbon dioxide.
Friday, August 30, Proof Canteen at the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale will highlight some of the brewery’s best offerings during a three-course Alaskan Beer Dinner. The summery, regionally influenced menu includes such dishes as citrus-cured Alaskan salmon and warm porter molasses cake paired with brews including Alaskan Amber ale and the unique Smoked Porter.
Get a taste of the Last Frontier at Proof Canteen, 10600 East Crescent Moon Drive, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. The dinner costs $48 per person — the accompanying views of the Troon Mountains come free. For more information or reservations call 480-513-5085 or visit www.proofcanteen.com.
