Since 2010, Hanna Gabrielsson has been serving utterly delicious eats at Beaver’s Choice, which recently moved to Mesa from Tempe. The Polish-born chef spent time living and working in Sweden and later Canada, which explains the eclectic nature of the restaurant’s menu. At her cozy eatery you’ll find everything from excellent Canadian poutine to authentic German schnitzel.

On Monday, December 2, Gabrielsson will prepare a three-course dinner and host a cooking class at The Hackett House, 95 West Fourth Street in Tempe. The menu includes Swedish bouillabaisse with garlic aioli and bacon-wrapped salmon on a bed of brussels chiffonade with fingerling potatoes and buerre blanc balsamic glaze. Between courses she’ll tell stories, share experiences, and demonstrate cooking techniques.

Learn the secrets of Scandinavian cooking from 6 to 9 p.m. at The Hackett House on Monday, December 2. The dinner, class, and wine bar cost $50 per person. For tickets and more information, visit www.hacketthouse.org or call 480-350-8181.

Mon., Dec. 2, 6-9 p.m., 2013
