The big game between the Central Florida Knights and the Bears of Baylor University may not be until the New Year, but the celebrations start early — and not just for football lovers.

The 16th Annual Fiesta Bowl Art Walk helps usher in the party with “Art Walk the Line,” a themed spin on the city’s weekly Thursday night art walk.

This tie-in to the bowl game is sponsored by the Scottsdale Gallery Association, which represents more than 100 art galleries in the downtown area. Open art havens line the streets, offering not only a vast collection of pieces, but a reprieve from the Valley’s freezing (ha) evening drops in temperature. As always, art lovers can also expect live music and artist demonstrations.

Hit the pavement from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, December 28, at the Downtown Scottsdale Arts District, near Main Street and Marshall Way. Admission is free and open to the public. Visit www.scottsdalegalleries.com/fiesta-bowl-artwalk.
