It’s being marketed as not the average runway show but a multi-faceted approach to fashion. Not a debut, but a revitalization.
Brian Cresson, the 30-year-old designer behind his Free Ego brand, presents two art-forward events this weekend to launch his new line, “Struggle.” The vibe is accessible, tongue-in-cheek street wear. Four designs will be debuted with varying background color and shirt combinations, including women’s and unisex tank tops, T-shirts, and baseball-style Ts. The show features the traditional hand-on-hip, turn-and-pout modeling synonymous with the runway, but it also includes a collaborative theatrical performance with Liliana Gomez of Phoenix Center for the Arts — all of which coincides, not coincidentally, with downtown’s monthly First Friday event and Art Detour 26.
