What’s the opposite of “undefeated?” You could just drop the “un,” but “defeated” doesn’t quite convey the shame of losing every single game you’ve played. “Winless” is a little better, but it still lacks a certain dishonor. How about “perma-beaten”? “Ever-embarrassed”? . . . Debacle in perpetual?

Whichever you prefer, use it to describe the San Antonio Talons, the arena football team currently waxing the bottom floor of the West division with an impressively funereal 0-5 record. On Saturday, April 26, the Talons will meet the 2013 Arena Bowl Champion Arizona Rattlers (who, as of this writing, are indeed undefeated) in a match on our boys’ home turf. Should be a bloodbath.

The perma-beaten San Antonio Talons meet the Arizona Rattlers 6 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at the US Airways Center, 201 East Jefferson Street in Phoenix. Visit azrattlers.com or call 602-514-8383 for more.
