The irony is beyond compare, but oh so perfectly relatable for anyone who has ever been in love. After all, there’s that initial attraction that seemed so right, so, well, perfect, yet, something always needed tweaking — for betterment or folly. That’s the general premise behind the Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical comedy, currently staging at the Fountain Hills Community Theatre. Starring Kathleen Berger, Jessica Godber, Chad Campbell, and Andrew Lipman, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change examines dating and contemporary relationships coupled with the seemingly endless contradictions that keep them working in the oddest sense. How do couples balance in-laws, family car trips, children, and — even more challenging — meeting the opposite sex in the first place? The answers may astound you!

It’s a laugh a minute starting at 8 p.m. Friday, July 25, at the Fountain Hills Community Theatre, 11445 North Saguaro Boulevard. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for youth. Call 480-837-9661 or visit www.fhtaz.org/i-love-you-youre-perfect-now-change.

Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: July 18. Continues through July 27, 2014
