If you thought you’d outgrown your childhood fascination with pop-up books, local artist Rossitza Todorova’s pop-up sculptures may change your mind. Todorova’s dynamic paper forms are movable and thus are not limited to a single, stagnant sculptural expression. In a two-day workshop at the Shemer Art Center, the artist shares her expertise to help participants create vibrant pop-up artwork of their own. Students may bring their personal sketches or doodles to incorporate into the 3D work.
“The Pop-Up: Art from Paper Workshop with Rossitza Todorova” goes from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, September 7 at 5005 East Camelback Road. The two-day class costs $125 plus a $30 fee for all supplies and materials, which is payable to the instructor on the first day of class. For more information, visit www.shemerartcenter.org or call 602-262-4727.
Sat., Sept. 6, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; Sun., Sept. 7, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., 2014
