Why it has taken so long for Phoenix to unleash a Beer & Bacon Festival is beyond reason. This is, simply put, a gathering celebrating two of mankind’s greatest culinary delights. Unlike most festivals that feature limited samples, this event, hosted by The Wigwam and the Arizona Pork Council, offers endless food and drink samples for one price (just hang onto the commemorative glass). With 30 breweries involved, including locals San Tan, Huss. College Street, and Lumberyard, the potential for inventive beer and food such as bacon beer brats and bacon kettle corn pairings are endless. (And, yes, there are bacon-flavored beers out there.)
The Beer & Bacon Festival slips onto the front lawn of the Wigwam Resort, 300 Wigwam Boulevard, Litchfield Park, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, October 25. Admission is $30 in advance and $35 day-of the event. Designated driver tickets are $10. Visit www.wigwamarizona.com or call 602-457-6449.
