For those who fear flight, the Arizona Aloha Festival is bringing the tropical island life to you. The two-day Hawaiian celebration will feature more than 40 performers on three stages, island-inspired fare including laulau, poi, and steamed pork buns, and an Island Marketplace selling everything from flower leis to Polynesian fashion. Visitors looking to get in on the action can also learn hula-dancing, lei-making, ukulele-playing, and the cultural history of South Pacific Islands at the Hale Mana’o, or House of Knowledge. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, March 7 and 8, at Tempe Beach Park, 54 West Rio Salado Parkway. Admission for this all-ages event is free.
