Today is the first day in business for Lola Coffee, the hip hangout created by Daniel Wayne (formerly of Lux and Lola Tapas).
House-roasted coffee is one good reason to go; homemade pastries by Danielle Librera of the recently closed Sweet Pea Bakery are another.
And what about the location itself? Tucked into the same tiny plaza (4700 N. Central) as Haus, Movies on Central, Oliver & Annie, and the under-construction restaurant Hula’s Modern Tiki, Wayne couldn’t have picked a better intersection of cool indie businesses.
Lola is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or possibly 3 p.m.) on Sunday.
