Sad news for those who enjoy cooking up a spicy pork and kimchi stirfry, bibimbop, or japchae: Paldo Market in Tempe, the grocery store specializing in Korean foods and cooking items in addition to having a small lunch counter with a cheap menu of Korean standards like bi bim bap, has shuttered.

Known for its solid selection of traditional Korean products (including a variety of fish, seafood, and meat), friendly staff, clean interior, tiny lunch nook, and low prices, Paldo’s opened in the summer of 2009 at the southeast corner of Southern and Mill in Tempe.

In late August of this year, due to Paldo’s failure to pay rent, the landlord took possession of the property and the market is now closed.
