Here’s an exciting upcoming event to put on your calendar (although you should get tickets a.s.a.p.). It’s the October 19th booksigning and tasting held in honor of the new cookbook, Cooking with Les Dames D’Escoffier: At Home with the Women Who Shape the Way We Eat and Drink.
The book itself is incredible — a fat tome of awesome recipes, cooking tips, and beverage suggestions from distinguished members of Les Dames D’Escoffier, the elite association of women culinary professionals. Among its ranks are some of the most famous ladies in the biz, from Alice Waters to Lidia Bastianich. Local members Barbara Pool Fenzl and Linda Hopkins are also contributors, and they’ll cook up their featured recipes for the event.
Besides a booksigning by Fenzl, the owner of Tucson’s Cafe Terra Cotta, Donna Nordin, will discuss the intricacies of chocolate, and Chatham Kitz of Chatham’s Fine Chocolates will talk about pairing wines with chocolate. The event will be held from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the Fairytale Brownies factory (4610 E. Cotton Center Blvd.), and proceeds will benefit the Downtown Phoenix Public Market.
