Normally when the Lannisters send their regards, we aren’t super-psyched, but with Second Story Liquor Bar‘s Kingslayer specialty cocktail, we’re more than ready to take on the lion sigil. Bartender John Christie says the drink, which has a Maker’s Mark bourbon base and a heavy hand with fruity flavors, “should only be consumed with the left hand in deference to the Kingslayer.”
Whether you serve House Stark, Tyrell, Martell, or Targaryen, we’re thinking the best way to pre-game the next phase of Tyrion’s suspenseful trial is to drink a couple of these beforehand. Or maybe we mean afterhand.

The Kingslayer cocktail is a tasty mix of bourbon, muddled orange, lime, and lemon, Angostura bitters, maraschino liqueur, and grenadine. The bright red concoction is then shaken with Kold draft ice and served with an Amarena cherry garnish. Christie says the drink is like Jaime Lannister’s character because of its complexity.

“It is a drink that seems simple in construction but has many layers to it, similar to Jamie,” he explains. “The bright red color of the drink also says at first glance it might not be what you think it is.”
The cocktail’s richness is perfect for Westeros’ richest family (unless you talk to the Iron Bank), but you don’t have to go all of the way to Casterly Rock to get one — just Scottsdale a.k.a. the Casterly Rock of the Valley.
