The McDowell Mountain Music Festival doesn’t boast an orthodox rock-festival-type lineup, but then, most rock shows don’t give away their dough. The MMMF folks spread the wealth and, more impressive, they do it with style. It’s the exceedingly rare charity event that’s actually cool.
Over the course of two days/nights – Friday and Saturday, April 25 and 26 – the Polo Grounds at WestWorld of Scottsdale will thump to an eclectic array of indie, Americana, and world sounds by the likes of Gov’t Mule (Friday’s headliner), John Butler Trio (Saturday’s), the subdudes, Blues Traveler, the Wailers, and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.
All proceeds benefit local children’s charities to be announced.
