A new American restaurant heavy on the veggies is coming to Ahwatukee.
Called Perfect Pear Bistro, the new spot comes courtesy of industry vet Chris Hove — who has managed and opened restaurants such as Ling & Louie’s, Pei Wei, and Buffalo Wild Wings — and his wife, Laura. Located at 1241 East Chandler Boulevard (Chandler Boulevard and Desert Hills Parkway), Perfect Pear Bistro is slated to open in mid-September.
“We sold our home, secured some loans, and borrowed money from friends to help finance it,” Hove tells me. “It’s always been a dream of ours.”

Hove tells me Perfect Pear’s menu, which he developed with his wife, is a kind of marriage of Postino’s and Wildflower Bakery — offering updated, familiar, and fresh foods like pasta, salads, and sandwiches. And since his wife, Laura, is a vegetarian, Hove says 98 percent of the dishes are vegetarian or have a vegetarian option.
Perfect Pear Bistro will serve adult libations as well, with, Hove says, an emphasis on wine, whiskey, and craft beer.
Describing his first restaurant as “quaint,” Hove goes on to say the interior of Perfect Pear, which, along with its patio, seats 84, will follow the philosophy he and his wife have with their mostly locally focused list of suppliers — by featuring artwork from local artists on its walls.
