The bourbon-spiked cocktails flowed and the proceeds went to anti-hunger charities Friday night as chefs from 10 Valley restaurants prepared tableside meals in a ballroom at the Scottsdale Fairmont Princess.

Share our Strength’s Taste of the Nation began with a cocktail tasting served by 15 local mixologists — we particularly enjoyed a raspberry-muddled concoction. Later, local restaurants from La Hacienda to Bourbon Steak (we were seated at the Fleming’s table) hosted tables for a five-course meal. The Fleming’s theme was “San Francisco,” complete with a cable car-inspired floral arrangement and vases filled with dry ice to simulate fog. From steamed dumplings to a Ghiradelli cake, the food followed suit.

You can pretty much guarantee no one left this event hungry.
