Zen 32, restaurateur Lenny Rosenberg’s Japanese-themed eatery and bar at 32nd Street and Camelback, will close August 31, when the current lease expires.
Rosenberg planned to renovate the space and change the concept, but says, “we found out at the last minute that the costs came in exorbitantly high.”
Rather than continue, he decided to give up the space altogether — Zen 32 is “a labor of love,” he says — and “dedicate time to expanding the other businesses.”
That means you’ll soon see additional locations of his two other concepts, Delux and Revo Burrito, in California and Arizona.
Rumors of a disagreement with the landlord, he adds, are “absolutely not true.”
The 1996 opening of Zen 32 made way for that corner to become one of Phoenix’s most diverse food addresses, now currently home to Delux, Delux 2 Go, Revo Burrito, Gelato Spot, Noca, and Keegan’s.
