After 8 years of being one of Old Town Scottsdale’s hippest Italian restaurants, Furio is closing its doors Thursday night.
The space, which featured live music and manicure nights, has suffered financially over the past 18 months. Business this past summer was only half of what it was last year, says general manager Tim Flanigan, presumably due to the recession.
After throwing around the idea of re-designing the restaurant’s concept, his business partner, Anthem Restaurants of America founder John Casale, decided to sell the spot. It’s assumed the venue will remain a restaurant and could re-open as soon as January.
