Phoenix is about to get a lil’ taste of Chicago: next week, Two Brothers Brewing Company will open a taphouse at Scottsdale Road and Drinkwater.
To welcome their beer brethren into town, Cartel Coffee Lab’s Scottsdale location will be hosting a “tap takeover” today, January 21st at 6 pm.

Cartel’s Tempe and Scottsdale locations generally feature only Arizona-local beers on draft, including a few from their own microbrewery. The tap takeover is their way of welcoming Two Brothers to the Phoenix community. As Chief Beer Officer Dave Arnce puts it, “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to welcome Two Brothers our tight-knit, growing beer and specialty beverage community. Adding their name to our market is a step forward for all local brewers in our quest to put Arizona beer on the map.”

Two Brothers Brewing Company have earned their fair share of accolades, including gold medals at both the 2014 Great American Beer Festival and last year’s World Beer Cup.
The event will feature five of Two Brothers’ beers, including the heavily-touted “Domaine DuPage,” a French country ale. You can also expect to see ales of many other colors (golden, pale, red rye) and an imperial stout.
These beers will be available throughout the day, but starting at 6 pm brewmasters from both Cartel and Two Brothers will be present to help introduce the Chicago brewer to the Phoenix scene.
