What just happened?
I heard from a couple of sources that chef Matt McLinn — former owner of the now-defunct Methode Bistro — just got fired from his postion as chef de cuisine of BLT Steak, celeb chef Laurent Tourondel’s fancy new steakhouse set to open at Camelback Inn on October 9.
But the official word, according to Terri Worthington, the resort’s gracious senior marketing manager, is that he resigned “sometime last week.” Of course, the restaurant still has a small army of chefs on board, and management is currently interviewing for McLinn’s replacement.

We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.
There are no plans to delay the official opening, either.
I’ll be curious to see where McLinn lands next. His last gig, at Pointe in Tyme, was short-lived as well. It was only back in June that he was appointed the executive chef there.
