It was back in the spring. I went for lunch with a friend from Tempe who doesn’t make it to CenPho all that often, and who’d never visited this classy little cafe before. He wondered aloud what to try.
“Get the Inside Out burger,” I told him. He thought it sounded good, and rolled with my suggestion.
Meanwhile, I tried to be all healthy, and ordered a salad. Yeah, I really do dig Maizie’s salads (really!), but it’s just impossible to eat one and be happy about life when the person sitting across from you sinks your teeth into this burger.
For a split second, I hated my friend.
And then he offered me a bite.
