The Thanksgiving weekend just got a little less fun if you happen to be a fan of punk icons Social Distortion.
We’ve gotten word that the legendary band has cancelled both of their sold-out appearances at the Marquee Theatre tonight and tomorrow evening due to a “family emergency.”
There’s a silver lining to this dark cloud, however, as opening acts Lucero and Frank Turner will still be performing. Those who have a Social D. ticket can get into the gig for free (otherwise admission is $5).
And if you’re looking for another punk rock paradise during Thanksgiving weekend, check out DJ Johnny Volume’s one-night revival of BANNED in Tempe tomorrow evening at the Stray Cat in Tempe.

UPDATE: According to the folks at X103.9, Social Distortion has rescheduled the shows for Thursday, January 13, and Friday, January 14. Tickets for tonight and tomorrow’s gigs will be honored.
