It’s weird the way “viral videos” work. Though local ska band Liam and The Ladies’ version of La Roux’s “Bulletproof” has been online for the better part of the year, last week saw it start popping up on local blogs like the Select blog, and AZ Kaos, and all over local tastemakers’ Facebook profiles.

It’s easy to see why the video started spreading like it did once people caught on, though. It’s an infectious bit of pop from the band, who performed this take on the song at the sorely missed Sweets ‘n’ Beats shop on Grand Avenue.

“There are a ton of pop songs I would love to play, but I’m not going to because I don’t want people to start to think [Liam and The Ladies is] a Reel Big Fish joke-type-thing. I genuinely really love pop music,” says front-man Liam Murtagh.
