If you were born somewhere between the late 1980s and the early 2000s and are currently living in metro Phoenix, good news: You’re doing at least one thing right.
That’s according to Niche Ink, the satellite website of Niche.com that specializes in helping people make major life decisions such as where to live, where to start a family, and where to go to college.

To create its list of “The 25 Best Places to Live for Millennials,” Niche Ink compiled data from the U.S. Census American Community Survey, FBI Uniform Crime Reports, and user generated surveys from Niche.com.

Ultimately, the site compiled a list of the best cities and the best neighborhoods by looking at quantitative things likes the percentage of people between 25 and 34 years old, median income, median rent, and the number of people bachelor’s degree or higher.
Coming in at number 16 on the list of cities was Phoenix with 14 percent of its population between the ages of 25 and 34, a median rent of $934, a median income of $29,139, and a below average crime score.
While Phoenix may take the cake as the best metro area in Niche’s list, Tempe was ranked as its best neighborhood, which received more or less average rankings, unless you count the crime score (surprise, surprise, Tempe is not exactly the safest city in Arizona).
