The Scientific Visualization Studio at NASA‘s Perpetual Ocean. 
The animation visualizes currents on the ocean’s from June 2005 to December 2007. During that 30-month period, NASA created a hi-res model of the global oceans that were then enhanced and animated to create a very Van Gogh-esque sequence.
