Some people say there are no places on Earth left to be explored, but that’s only because they’ve never have heard of Børge Ousland, the first person to cross Antarctica solo and unsupported in 1997.

More recently, he completed the first-ever sea crossing of the Northwest and Northeast Passages in a single season. And in 2011, he led an expedition to Antarctica to mark the anniversary of Amundsen’s conquest of the South Pole. He even married at the North Pole last year.

The polar explorer, photographer, and writer will take attendees on his journeys though images, video, and stories at 7 tonight. Ousland also will sign copies of his book, which will be available for sale at the event, following the presentation.

Tickets to the live lecture range from $26-$38 and are available online or at the Mesa Arts Center box office.
