Los Angeles rap collective Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All — a.k.a. Odd Future, a.k.a. OFWGKTA — has consistently demonstrated a knack for marketing themselves with eye-catching stunts.
When they performed on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last month, the host held up a QR code to the home audience rather than an Odd Future album cover. If home viewers liked what they saw, they could scan the QR icon with with their cellular phone and watch another music video from group leader, Tyler the Creator.
Tyler recently hoaxed the popular hip hop blogs Nah Right and 2DopeBoyz by advertising his album on their sites. When readers clicked the advertisement, it led to a site that mocked the bloggers who had refused to post Tyler’s music before he was famous.
Prior to all that though, the former community college film student was assembling dark and creepy music videos. The clips were well made to go viral. They did, and were crucial to generating the buzz that have now made the crew — especially Tyler — a rap sensation.

5. Odd Future Gets Signed
This Funny Or Die clip depicts what XL Recordings apparently had to go through to land Tyler the Creator for just one album. It’s definitely the most light hearted video of the bunch, opening with the hilarious line, “They’re like Nicki Minaj with dicks, and there are nine of them.”
“It’s a little rape-y,” is also a great killer line.
4. Tyler the Creator – Yonkers
Tyler’s foray into a mid-budget fare didn’t mean he’d abandon his fucked up imagery. Make sure you watch up to the disturbing end.

They do the whole vomit thing (see below) and there are a few guns brandished but what really concerns some people are the lines about locking a girl in a storage facility and raping her and the accompanying image of Tyler and his friends grabbing a girl in the street as she kicks that really gets attention.2.
