It’s been a while since we heard from Joseph “Sentock” Perez — the Phoenix artist moved to Chicago over a year ago and has been making a name for himself in the Windy City.
But this weekend, he’s back with Eighty Grand Clothing to bring “No Kings No gods,” a collaborative collection, to Phoenix.

According to Perez, the idea for the collection came from the experience of Glendale-based entrepreneur Pablo “Pretty Pablo” Sapien, who owns Eighty Grand.

Sapien kept hearing the “rules” of what streetwear should look like and represent. Sapien ran the “rules” by Perez, and over a couple of conversations, the two decided to react.
Perez writes that his message is one of an equal community: “Creating a T-shirt with social commentary on dogmatic elitism, egos, and the power hunger the fashion industry has created. Using many of notable signatures in the designs it is a sure hit for all.”
“No Kings No gods” will be up for grabs Saturday night at The Lab 137 on Roosevelt Row from 5 to 9 p.m. Live performances include DJFresh85 and DJ Mane One.
