In 1930, Harland David Sanders opened the doors to a service station in Kentucky that served chicken dishes to the small community of Corbin. His recipes were popular, and Sanders moved to a restaurant/motel where he worked on a “secret” recipe for fried chicken in a pressure fryer.
More than 80 years later, the face of chef and restaurateur — now known as Colonel Sanders — is iconic and his chain, Kentucky Fried Chicken, is one of the largest in the U.S. And today, you have the opportunity to nab the Colonel’s letterpress homage.
The Colonel Sanders Kentucky Fried Chicken printing press block was found by Etsy shop owner Joe Poe, who’s selling it for $22 (about the same price as a variety bucket of the Colonel’s signature recipes).
The 2-inch block, according to Poe, “would be perfect on the shelf or to do some stamping with.”
