The Valley has not yet finished celebrating the life of the late Bill Thompson. The creator, producer and co-host of the hit children’s television program, The Wallace and Ladmo Show, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, at the age of 82. Now the community is coming together to remember Thompson’s lifelong career in the media and 36 years as the fictional character Wallace with a public memorial this Monday, August 11, at Harkins Tempe Marketplace Cine Capri.

Hosted by Dan Harkins, owner of Harkins Theaters and personal friend of the late Thompson, this tribute will screen a montage of some of Thompson’s most memorable moments on air and feature guest appearances and performances.
Tribute to Wallace: The Celebration of Bill Thompson will begin at 7:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Admission is free, and seating is first-come, first-served. For those who would like to make a contribution in Thompson’s honor, his family asks that donations be made to either Banner Health Foundation for Cardon Children’s Medical Center or the Arizona Humane Society.
