Since there’s really no better accessory than a cocktail in your hand, each week brings you a tasty adult beverage from one of our favorite drinking establishments, complete with recipe.

This week: The After School Special at Culinary Dropout

Lets face it: the scene at a drinking establishment can make or break a cocktail experience. In the case of FRC’s Culinary Dropout, there’s no time to be bothered by the studded jean Scottsdale scene because we’re way too busy getting schooled on their inspired cocktail list, complete with avant-garde ingredients and Dropout genius.

Part Michelada, part margarita; The After School Special is midday drink perfection.

Tip: Don’t judge this cocktail at first sip. The pungency of the homemade ginger agave nectar is meant to put your taste buds into high gear to prepare your mouth for the flavor fiesta that’s about to begin.

(Recipe after the jump.)

Ingredients:

¾ oz ginger agave nectar
¾ oz fresh squeezed lime juice
1 oz Raspberry Tea Infused Blanco Tequila
1 can Modelo Especial

In a shaker, combine ginger agave, lime juice and tequila over ice and shake well. Rim a pint glass with smoked sea salt (Dropout smokes their own, of course) and empty contents into glass. Top off with Modelo Especial and garnish with a lime wheel. Serve cocktail with, ah yeah, a side of Modelo. Keep the can in close reach to sip, refill and repeat.
