Arguably the best new punk band of the decade — Against Me! — is coming to a super cool small venue in Phoenix next Sunday and you can see the show for free.
Kia, the South Korean car maker, is bringing one of the cooler events of the summer to Phoenix next week. To get two free tickets to see Against Me!, the Florida folk-punk band that landed the #1 spot on Spin Magazine‘s 2007 best albums list for New Wave, all you have to do is test drive a Kia Soul. You can take that test drive by dropping by The Icehouse, 429 W. Jackson St., where you can also check out Secret Machines, a three-piece space rock band from New York, and three of Phoenix’s best local bands in Miniature Tigers, Dear and the Headlights and The Maine at various times throughout the weekend.
The whole thing is an effort to promote the Kia Soul and I’d say they’re headed for big success. For example, I had no idea what a Kia Soul was before this, but now I associate it with awesome concerts. Full details on the jump and here.
