Sad news for ASU students: College Dropouts Bar, located conveniently next to Sun Devil Stadium on College Avenue, closed at the end of February.
The bar, known for its retro Nintendo console and a seriously insane penny drink Tuesday (“Drinking With Lincoln,” they called it) may have had a primo location, but it seems that wasn’t enough to keep the drinks flowing and the NES controller clattering.
According to owner Kevin Jones, he was unable to reach a lease agreement with his landlord, and the closure took place at the end of February.
Jones is currently working on opening a new concept bar in Old Town Scottsdale late this year, and promises more details to come.
