Thomas “Paydirt” Destories, accused of killing a photo radar van operator, told police after being arrested that he was “sorry” and that he “didn’t mean for anyone to get hurt.”
Evidence at the scene, though, appears to say otherwise.
According to court paperwork, (see below), five shots “of a large caliber” entered the Arizona Department of Public Safety van in which victim Douglas Georgianni was working. Police say Georgianni was on the phone with his wife at the time.
The police narrative goes on to state that:

Three of the five shots were in a tight pattern and grouped on the driver’s side front window, where Douglas had been seated.
That doesn’t sound like an accident.
