In Spanish, puente means bridge, and that’s exactly what El Puente Theatre Festival and Mask Procession intends to do. Childsplay and local artist Zarco Guerrero have teamed up to present the third installment of this event on Sunday, April 26, from 2 to 6:30 p.m. at Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 West Rio Salado Parkway. The free event will offer mask-making, live performances by local artists, food, and craft activities. The first 400 people will also receive free admission to the 4 p.m. showing of Childsplay’s latest production, The Three Javelinas. Then at 6 p.m., grab your masks and head to the pedestrian bridge across Tempe Town Lake for the masked procession and reflection upon all the meanings “bridge” can have. Visit www.childsplayaz.org/puente for more information.
