Yesterday, we brought you the top five reasons why post-traumatic stress disorder should be on the list of qualifying ailments under the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act.

We propose these reasons because the state’s Department of Health Services recently rejected adding PTSD to the list. Medical marijuana use for anxiety, migraine headaches, and depression was also ruled out.

As for PTSD, the University of Arizona’s College of Public Health report says researchers “could not find any research that directly addressed the key questions of the benefits and harms of marijuana use for the treatment of PTSD.”

PTSD’s been getting a lot of attention for its prominence in war veterans, and there’s plenty of anecdotal evidence that suggests some weed helps alleviate some of the symptoms.
