The County Attorney’s Office announced today that a Valley woman, who pleaded guilty in September to charges of aggravated assault and unlawful flight from a law enforcement vehicle, will spend 15 years in prison.
Elizabeth Rich, 26, was the passenger in a car that was pulled over by Phoenix Police Sergeant David Lundberg back in June.
Rich had an outstanding warrant for credit card fraud and theft, so when the driver of the car was arrested on some outstanding warrants of his own, Rich tried to flee. One problem — Sergeant Lundberg’s hand was caught in the window of the car.
As he was trying to arrest Rich, Lundberg put his hand in the car to try to detain her. Rich closed the window on the officer’s hand and hit the gas.

Rich dragged the cop about a half-mile before the officer freed his hand and escaped. Then she crashed the car and was arrested.
