Meghan McCain, the “progressive conservative” daughter of Senator John McCain, has signed a book deal that will net her an advance in the “high six figures.”
The New York Observer reports today that the local political princess shopped her idea around to other publishers before taking the offer from Hyperion Books, a Disney company. McCain has written one other book, about her father, and also writes for the Daily Beast and her own blog, McCainBlogette.
McCain will undoubtely capitalize on her squabbles with hard-boiled conservatives like Ann Coulter, while trying to eke out a real political position for herself. And there’s likely to be plenty about her life’s challenges, such as her body weight and the trouble she has in finding a good date.
