Today’s the day. SB 1070 is set to take effect manana and still no word from U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton on whether she plans to grant an injunction.
Bolton’s suggested that she may allow certain sections of the new law to take effect but grant the injunction on others.
Meanwhile, both supporters of the law and those against it prepare to protest in downtown Phoenix as soon as soon as Bolton makes her decision — or doesn’t make a decision.
It’s expected that Bolton will rule on the injunction before tomorrow, and there’s no shortage of speculation as to which direction she’s leaning. But there’s always the wild card: she doesn’t make a ruling.
