The suspect in this morning’s shootings in Yuma has been identified as 73-year-old Carey Hal Dyess — and he’s dead.
Yuma police confirm earlier reports that after killing at least five people, Dyess killed himself.
Another victim was injured during the attack and airlifted to a Phoenix-area hospital, police say.
The shootings, Yuma Police spokesman Clint Norred says, are under investigation.

The shootings happened in different spots throughout the county and city of Yuma.
About 9 a.m., Yuma police responded to a call that woman had been shot at her home near Avenue 35-1/2E and Old Highway 80. She was found dead in her front yard.
About 20 minutes later, at 9:21 a.m., Yuma police responded to a shooting in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue in Yuma.
According to police scanner traffic picked up by the Yuma Sun, two more shootings were later reported near Wellton. That was followed by a report of a self-inflicted gunshot wound near Blaisdell off Highway 95.
One of those killed is reportedly an attorney identified by other local attorneys as Jerrold Shelley, although, Norred would not confirm the identity of the victims.
The shootings forced a lockdown — which has since been lifted — of a school and a court house.
