Think of Muay Thai kickboxing like fighting an octopus. Whereas in Western boxing your opponent can only use his hands, a Muay Thai fighter has eight different striking points you have to worry about: hands, elbows, knees and legs. All of these dangerous body parts will be in play at the 2015 Muay Thai Season Premiere presented by Siam Fight Productions, in which top-ranked American amateur and youth Muay Thai boxers will compete for five world titles against other skilled human octopi from across the globe.
The 2015 Muay Thai Season premieres 5 p.m. Friday, February 20, at the Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 West Rio Salado in Tempe. Tickets start at $35. Visit siamfightproductions.com for more.
